100% of proceeds from sales of "bonjour, hi," "expressions" and "alien" facemasks (as well as 3-pack) will be split between two amazing organizations in Montreal, Canada (the unceded Indigenous lands of the traditional territory of both the Kanien’kehá:ka, “Mohawk,” and the Anishinabeg, “Algonquin,” peoples)
The Native Women's Shelter of Montreal
The NWSM is a charity providing a safe, supportive environment that strengthens cultural identity, self-esteem and independence for Aboriginal women and their children. They offer a huge variety of in-house programming and services as well as community programs including the Iskweu Project (responding to the immediate need for assistance for families and loved ones when an Indigenous woman or girl (trans, two -spirit) goes missing); Resilience Montreal (day shelter); and family care programs.
RESILIENCE MONTREAL
is a day shelter, wellness centre and safe space open to everyone, providing food and shelter as well as mental health and medical support. For decades, its location, Cabot Square, has been a gathering place for Indigenous people. In the last few years, constant police presence, fines, harassment and the closure of an important wet shelter led to a dire situation where 14 people died while waiting for critical resources, mostly Indigenous women. Resilience Montreal was created by the Native Women’s Shelter of Montreal and Nazareth Community in response to this crisis.
